Chick-Fil-A Manager Drops His Work To Help 96 Y.O. WWII Veteran Change A Flat Tire

Most likely all of us have been in a situation where we helped a stranger without even thinking about it. Whether it would be helping an old lady cross the street, a mother of 2 struggling to carry her groceries to the car or maybe you didn’t assist a human at all and rather helped a distressed animal to safety. All these little acts of kindness deserve admiration but usually go unnoticed. That would have been exactly the case with this Chick-Fil-A manager dropping everything he was doing and rushing out to help a distressed elderly man, who apparently was a WWII veteran, with a flat tire. Luckily, his co-manager was there to capture the heartwarming moment.

Maryland Chick-fil-A manager Daryl Howard didn’t think for a second when an elderly man came to his counter distressed about being unable to change a flat tire

Chick-fil-A are known for their top-notch customer service and they sure didn’t make a mistake when they hired Daryl Howard as a manager. Even though all the employees know their “please and thank yous”, Daryl went an extra mile in helping out a customer.

He rushed out immediately and helped the man, who turned out to be a WWII veteran, change the tire

One morning, he was approached by an elderly man as he was working behind the registers. The senior appeared to be “shaking, almost in tears saying he barely made it to the store on three tires because one was bad,” as told by Daryl’s fellow manager Rudy Somoza who was the one who snapped the photo of Daryl changing Mr. Lee’s tire. He explained that the man barely got to finish the sentence – Daryl was already on his way out to help him. Turns out, the senior was 96-year-old World War II veteran Mr. Lee.

Daryl changed the tire in as little as 15 minutes and that’s all it took to make his customer’s day. Apparently, Mr. Lee was a regular known very well to the staff as he visits the Chick-fil-A for a quick coffee and a chicken biscuit quite often. Our guess, he’ll be coming back much more often after being treated with such kindness!

People were touched by Daryl’s kindness
