Student Shares A Compilation Of Various Crazy Things Her 70+ Y.O. Physics Professor Did, And It’s Awesome
We all know what a huge impact a good professor can have on the subject they are teaching. Even the dullest material can become entertaining if the educator is teaching with passion, drive and gets a little bit of fun involved in the process. This is exactly what Tidewater Community College physics professor David Wright does. He is known among his students as a fun educator who’s willing to go the extra mile to keep them interested in his teaching.
Recently a psychics professor went viral for his unconventional and entertaining teaching methods

Recently, one of his students named Erica posted a compilation video of all the crazy things Wright has done during his lectures. The video quickly went viral and now has over 4 million views and nearly 800k likes. One thing is clear, the professor likes unconventional teaching methods and people love it!

Wright who is in his 70’s and has been teaching at TCC since 1974 loves to demonstrate how physics works in real life. “If you just memorize all of this stuff, it would be a torturous class, if they get the key idea then everything else becomes natural,” he says.

That’s why he makes his classes interactive. He uses toys, impressive experiments, and fun activities to demonstrate how the theories work. From teaching about liquid nitrogen by making ice cream to explaining the surface-tension by lying down on a nail bed, Wright never seizes to surprise his class.

“If I don’t get excited about the subject, my students definitely won’t. If I can get people excited about science, that would be amazing,” the professor explains. Wright says that he hopes to get students thinking that everything in life relates to physics.

Wright, who was given one of only 11 Outstanding Faculty Awards by the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia in 2002, is not only known for being a professor. He also served as a science consultant and scriptwriter for the NASA Science Files television show and also performs physics demonstrations at theme parks, he has even been on Saturday Night Live back in the day.
So I just emailed him letting him know he’s gone viral we’ll see what he says. pic.twitter.com/AL8q1HuLL0
